Download Opera 10 Alpha With New Presto 2.2.0 Rendering Engine
A month back I have reviewed the Mozilla Firefox 3.1 beta 1 release with the upcoming Gecko 1.9.1 layout engine. Now opera is coming with their completely new browser named opera version 10 as an alpha release. This all new browser is based on the newly developed Opera Presto 2.2.0 rendering engine. According to opera this new engine will result in improvements in speed, performance and security and optimized to perform significantly better on resource intensive pages such as Google Gmail and Facebook. After Google, opera is also adding the auto update feature into its opera 10 so now you don’t have to bother about checking for new versions by yourself.Another notable feature that would certainly please the Facebook users.
Opera 10 will now underline words which are misspelled by ignorance or deliberately. So watch out people when you use short hand(Smses). As google is promoting its own Chrome browser to be ready for the next generation web applications, opera 10 alpha also boasts of features ready for the next generation of Web applications. Some of the standards opera 10 is going to support are
» Web Fonts support
Web Fonts is nothing but a CSS 3 module which downloads the pre-specified font from a pre-defiened location, if the font is not available on a visitor’s computer. So now webmasters are free to use any of their preferred font without bothering about availability of the font on visitor’s system.
» RGBA/HSLA color
» SVG improvements
There are 2 notable things that would be possible with SVG improvements such as FPS setting in SVG-Which allows to manipulate the speed i.e frames per second of SVG animations and Web Fonts in SVG – which allows to use SVG font files to style texts using CSS (in both HTML and SVG files).
So sounds impressive ha… Go Download now and test for yourself the features those are mentioned here and those which aren’t…
